Bike and scooter parking problems in India, and simple fixes
Two-wheelers get parked in tight spots, which causes problems for both the rider and everyone around.
Common problems
- Cars parked in front or behind, so the bike cannot move.
- The bike falls over in a crowded lane and a passer-by cannot tell whose it is.
- Indicators or lights left on, draining the battery.
Things you can do
- Park with the front facing out so you can leave without moving other vehicles.
- Use the side stand on firm ground, not on slopes or loose gravel.
- Switch off lights and the ignition before you walk away.
Let people tell you
Most passers-by are willing to help but have no way to reach you. A QR sticker on the bike lets them scan and message you at once, and your number stays private. Place it where it is easy to see and keep it dry.
